11 Inch Waldorf Doll **Lacey**

Dear Lacey is an 11 inch Waldorf doll with light skin, blue eyes and short brown hair. She is one of a kind, handmade by me and is stuffed medium firm with double and sometimes triple stitching. Arms are attached from the outside to allow them to hang downward. The legs bend at the hip and the feet are stitched across to create an ankle curve.

The materials that I've used to create little Lacey are as follows: DeWitte doll skin fabric in the shade T103. This fabric is OEKO-TEX 100 Certified. Lacey is stuffed with cleaned and carded wool from Canada and I've made her wig with DollyMo Woolly Mohair in the shade "Brown". Also, DMC cotton floss for the face stitches and Gutermann thread for the sewing of the doll and the clothing. Rosy cheeks are blushed with Stockmar Beeswax Crayon No.1.

Lacey is wearing an adorable short overall that I've made with Liberty quilting weight cotton fabric in a beautiful floral print. The garment slides up over the feet and tummy. Young children may need a little help due to the small size of the doll and overall. Lacey’s underclothing includes a pair of organic knit, short bloomer panties and matching socks that are really cute when worn slouchy style. Over her outfit she has a lovely button front sweater that I’ve knitted with Malabrigo Rios Superwash Merino Wool yarn.

Each of my dolls is lovingly created according to Waldorf pedagogy, which values the role of imaginative play in the development of the child. The doll's minimalistic features allow her to better respond to the child's emotions and creative play. As the doll is held he or she will become warm and absorb the scent of the child and his or her environment.
